Logo

Since 1914 Maserati has been building some of the world's greatest race cars, grand touring cars and sedans including lineage of the GranTurismo, Quattroporte and MC12.

Maserati is a subsidiary of Fiat and part of Ferrari. In 1969 Enzo Ferrari sold 50% of the Ferrari stock to the Fiat Group, a share that rose to 90% in 1988. In 1997 Ferrari acquired 50% of Maserati and in 1999 took over full control of the company.

Maserati has a long and glorius history on the track - a history that is still being written today with the mighty MC12 race car currently dominating the FIA GT series.

Maserati SpA's home on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena, Italy

Maserati has been based in the same facility on the same road, Viale Ciro Menotti, in Modena, Italy, since it moved from Bologna after the Orsi family took control in 1937. The original red brick factory, built in line with the industrial style of the day, is still the nucleus around which the new, modern plant has grown.

The factory facility covers more than 40,000 m² (43,349 m² to be precise). The entire factory was renovated from top to bottom in the late 1990's, and has become one of the most advanced low-volume assembly facilities in the world. However as part of that renovation the exterior facades of the original factory remained untouched, as they have been designated a historic landmark by the city of Modena.

Set opposite the original red brick hanger-style buildings is a soaring tower that is among the tallest in Modena which houses the company offices and a showroom. On the north side of the Headquarters is a large staff car park that has been artfully decorated with celebrated symbols from Maserati's past.

The production lines are entirely modernized to raise quality and production standards as well as to create more ergonomic assembly processes for the factory workers – visitors to the factory are amazed at how the bodyshells are raised or lowered and rotated and turned to provide the best access to the workers to the area of the car being assembled. There are now 26 workstations on the line on which the Quattroporte and GranTurismo are built.

This modern theme extends to the cells that house the test benches used for running in and testing the engines and cars. Every single car undergoes a thorough workout here before being released to the worldwide dealer network.

Clients taking delivery of their new Maserati at the factory have their car presented in the fabulous showroom designed by famed architect Ron Arad. With a soaring sculpture that evokes the oval of the Indianapolis racetrack, where Maserati took two wins, the showroom embodies the craftsmanship, artistic quality and technology that goes into each Maserati.

Open to the public, the showroom features the latest lineup of Maserati cars and also has a gift boutique stocked with the full line of exquisite Maserati merchandise.

Maserati North America

Maserati North America was founded in 2001 to lead Maserati's return to the United States and Canada. From its headquarters in northern New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from New York City, Maserati North America oversees the network of authorized dealers, handles the logistics of shipping and importing cars, manages service and technician training, and handles all of the marketing, event and PR activities for the Trident.

At its beginning Maserati North America launched with just 32 dealers. But due to the phenomenal growth of the brand the sales and service network has nearly doubled to 60 dealers representing Maserati in key marketplaces from Long Island in the east to Hawaii in the west, from Miami in the south to Calgary in the north.

Maserati North America has steered the impressive growth of the brand while still keeping an eye on one of the aspects that makes a Maserati special: its exclusivity. Maserati only sells around 3,000 cars a year in North America, and with total overall vehicle sales typically exceeding 16 million vehicles annually in the US and Canadian markets that means less than one in every five thousand new vehicles on the road is a Maserati – exclusivity indeed.

Consumers have truly embraced Maserati in North America, making it one of the most sought after cars and a star on TV, in movies, and at valet parking at the best of restaurants. From back roads to the most exclusive addresses and city streets Maserati North America has been bringing the unmatched combination of performance, style and exclusivity that only Maserati can offer to consumers in the US and Canada.

If your travels take you to New York City visit the Maserati corporate showroom at 410 Park Avenue, on the corner of East 55th Street.
